Dave Mandel
David Mandel, a prolific craftsman, was recently awarded the Outstanding Design Award during the 2011 commencement ceremonies at the NewSchool of Architecture & Design in San Diego, CA. David’s design for socio-metamorphic modules for multi-family housing was selected from among 64 graduate thesis presentations. David is an associate member of the American Institute of Architects, Construction Specifications Institute, and is a committee member of the NewSchool Arts Foundation. He is also an architectural design consultant for the upcoming AHPF / Monterey Museum of Automotive Arts. Prior to restoring and building houses, he restored museum artworks. He holds multiple licenses and credits his tenacity from time served in the military. David lives in Pacific Beach, CA, with his wife, Lisa, and his sons, Jacob, age 6, and Gideon, age 4. The Mandel's own and operate DSKM, Inc. a design build construction company established in 1998.
